Under the project to establish 160 Batik Service Training Centers island wide in collaboration with the State Ministry of Batik Handloom Textiles and Local Apparel, Sri Lanka Textile and Garment Institute the awarding ceremony of certificates and assignments to 50 training officers recruited for the 60 centers relevant to the first phase was held yesterday (Nov. 04) at 2 p.m. 1.30 pm at the Ministry of Industry.
The event was presided over by the Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara, State Minister of Batik Handloom Textiles and Local Apparel Production.
These training officers were selected at the district level in the areas of Batik, Design and Sewing Technology and obtained the assignment letters and certificates after successfully completing the "Certificate Course in Batik and Garment Production" offered by our institute.
