SLITA Successfully Conducts TVEC Capacity Building Programme

The Sri Lanka Institute of Textile & Apparel (SLITA) successfully conducted the first day of its two-day Capacity Building Programme on 1 July 2026 at the institute premises. Organized in collaboration with the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC), this initiative aims to enhance the professional capabilities of the SLITA team.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. S. Ilangovan (Director – Training and Technical), Mrs. Nidarshani Perera (Director – Operations), and members of the SLITA academic and administrative staff who actively participated throughout the day.

The program featured two comprehensive, high-impact training sessions running from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., facilitated by eminent senior resource persons from TVEC:

Morning Session : Facilitated by Mr. T. Senthuran.
Afternoon Session : Facilitated by Dr. Ajith Polwatta.
The interactive sessions provided the staff with valuable insights to further upgrade SLITA's academic and operational standards.

The second phase of this Capacity Building Programme is scheduled to take place on 5 August 2026.
