The Sri Lanka Institute of Textile and Apparel (SLITA) successfully conducted its inaugural Staff Awareness Session on the newly established Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) on Wednesday, 27th May 2026 at the New Auditorium.

The session, which took place from 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm, saw an encouraging and active turnout of 56 participants representing various academic, technical, and administrative departments of the institute.

The Director General of SLITA, Mr. Tharanga Naleen Gamlath, graced the occasion and delivered an insightful address outlining the core purpose and strategic vision behind the IAU. He emphasized that the unit is vital for fostering an organizational culture rooted in transparency, institutional integrity, and streamlined operational efficiency, aligning SLITA with modern governance standards.

The main technical briefings were delivered by the featured resource person, Mr. Panduka Perera (Internal Auditor), who detailed the structural functions of the unit, corruption risk assessments, and the collaborative role staff members play in maintaining high ethical standards across all institutional operations.
