NEDA & ILO visit to SLITA

Officials from the National Enterprise Development Authority and the International Labour Organization (ILO) paid a visit to the Sri Lanka Institute of Textile & Apparel (SLITA) to engage in discussions regarding the cluster development approach in the Gampaha district, specifically focusing on the textile industry. The primary focus of the meeting was to explore the development of batik clusters through improved wastewater management systems. In-depth deliberations took place concerning the issues associated with wastewater management in the batik industry of Sri Lanka, as well as challenges related to fabric and the lack of innovation in design. Additionally, the topic of patents within this industry was also addressed. During the meeting, SLITA expressed its full support for this program and emphasized its commitment to knowledge sharing, training, and new advancements in the field.
